In yesterday’s market update, I highlighted the confluence zone at 7,411.9 for the S&P 500, a daily level I flagged to paid subscribers anticipating a potential bull trap following the after-hours rally sparked by Micron’s earnings. SPX’s high today reached 7,419 🎯, validating the relevance of that resistance zone.

For QQQ, I flagged 724.9 as a critical level; today’s high of 726.8 🎯 confirmed the sentiment shift and showed resistance holding stronger than support lines. SMH presented a similar case, I noted 646.6 as crucial for momentum confirmation, but the zone became resistance instead, with price topping at 650.

The technology sector fell today, driven lower by semiconductors and individual names that had become technically overextended during the recent rally. As warned over the weekend, underlying cracks in the SPX were already visible through weakening market breadth and an over dependence on the semiconductors space.

Major names like MU, AMD, ORCL, INTC, LRCX, QCOM, and TXN fell sharply. The rotation into non-tech sectors was insufficient to contain a broader decline that began after the SPX hit my annual target of 7,620. For the record, I anticipated the high likelihood of a bounce on March 28th in the Weekly Compass, my orientation is neutral and focused on technical indicators using levels to validate reversals.

As posted yesterday, a gap fill for the SPX was highly probable given the overextended condition of the price action, making key price levels essential to watch for an early reversal. The Central Daily Level (CDL) shared for today was 7,549.0, and I noted that upward momentum would be endangered if that level was breached.

A breakdown below that CDL exposed our downside target of 7,521.0, which was hit by 3:45 PM 🎯 and subsequently breached, suggesting bearish continuation for tomorrow.

Because the initial rally was so rapid (and we have studied how suspicious a sharp, early-week jump can be) I also provided key daily levels for the Magnificent Seven to help you manage risk. META successfully defended its essential 591.3 level and touched the daily bullish target of 603.0 anticipated yesterday for subscribers 🎯. GOOG also recovered 367.0, and the exact high of the day peaked at 373.5 🎯, matching the top target printed in yesterday’s report.

This execution approach was presented for all of the Magnificent Seven. Yesterday I highlighted indecisive price action for TSLA, providing the CDL of 411.0. The bullish above/bearish below level was breached, triggering 406 and 402 as the extended bearish target, the daily low was 400 🎯.

For SPCX (SpaceX), I highlighted daily bullish targets at 200.9, 209.3, and 225. The top of the day capped out at exactly 225 🎯, meaning bulls should proceed with caution heading into tomorrow.

Today was a day full of gaps, what does it mean?

Let’s assess the key levels for tomorrow and the rest of the week, including SpaceX (SPCX). As outlined in the levels posted yesterday, the asset remained bullish above 162.0, targeting 175 and 189. In fact, 175 was hit before noon, and after hours of consolidation, the price continued its upward expansion to close the day at 192, slightly above our extended 189 target 🎯.

The week that ended Friday the 12th was highly volatile, with the SPX bouncing after a -4% decline. One week earlier I posted a note pointing to the likely downside destination in the 7,311 zone, an area “where potential spikes could occur”. Also as anticipated, the next resistance, the bullish target zone, was 7,353, and price reached it in a matter of two minutes. After about an hour of consolidation, the rally continued toward 7,440, and the day ended before that milestone was reached.

Daily levels become key when the weekly ones are too wide, a product of high volatility and large price moves. That was the case for QQQ, which was more bullish then SPX since the daily level of 699 was a solid support and the price visited 705.6 a couple of times during the morning. Here, the news that fueled the rally at 1:30 PM NY time sent QQQ to 717.6, a daily level also modeled yesterday for QQQ as for all of the Magnificent Seven and other American and international megacaps.

Having levels ahead of time also saves you an invaluable asset: Time, so you can plan ahead without rushing when the market opens.

For example, many stocks closed with bullish conviction, and they need to hold these daily levels tomorrow to keep momentum. For example, AMD +8.0% closed with bullish conviction, and 479.0 is the level that will define bullish or bearish daily momentum tomorrow. The same applies to 600.9 for SMH +6.8%, 962.7 for MU +11.7%, 543.4 for AMAT +11.2%, 565.9 for META -0.4%, and 352.7 for GOOG +0.9%. Price action printed an inside candle for the NDX and key ETFs like IWM and SMH. Inside candles reflect market uncertainty with neither side establishing clear directional control. We will study below how to navigate them.

The market presented a mixed appetite across growth, energy, and cyclical sectors. Theoretically, it is bullish when the technology sector leads the day, with XLK gaining +2.2%, followed by energy (XLE) at +1.1% and discretionary (XLY) at +0.5%, however, clear indecision persisted when checking their respective charts. On the downside, sellers showed true conviction, printing long red candles in materials (XLB -1.3%), real estate (XLRE -1.5%), and utilities (XLU -1.9%). This highlights an ongoing internal debate between growth and defensive positioning, with no clear, unified direction yet.

On the crypto side, the bounce anticipated in the Weekly Compass is gaining validation, with IBIT bouncing +5.1% and ETHA gaining +7.2%. Finally, TSLA also printed an inside candle, forming an interesting technical structure.

The futures session has opened and we are already seeing volatility. Prices opened in the red before staging a quick bounce. As mentioned on Saturday, a spike is possible, but the indices must recover their central weekly levels to provide stronger validation for a sustained bounce. I also outlined the less likely scenario of a gap down.

These key levels were highlighted in yesterday’s Market Update (access here), alongside the potential bounce for GOOG and AMZN. Both tech giants validated the bearish setups anticipated in the Weekly Compass, but became deeply oversold following steep declines from their respective peaks. In fact, both securities were oversold relative to their Bollinger Bands, as detailed in last night’s premium content.

Healthcare led the market with XLV gaining 3.1% on strong bullish conviction, followed by financials (XLF +2.6%) displaying structural strength, and real estate (XLRE +2.0%) adding further momentum. Capital clearly rotated into value and cyclical sectors to drive the tape. On the downside, technology (XLK -1.6%) managed to close with a green candle by recovering off its lows; it filled its daily gap but fell short of positive territory. Consumer staples (XLP -0.1%) reflected sector indecision, while materials (XLB) printed a neutral doji, which provides little encouragement for GLD and SLV.

The market remains in a cautiously bullish regime. The rally continues, and fighting the trend can be risky; as mentioned yesterday, using specific levels to identify a bearish reversal is more effective than trying to anticipate one.

Market breadth remains weak: just 41% of the stocks listed in the S&P 500 are above their 20-day moving average, and only 46.5% are above their 50-day moving average. In the Weekly Compass, we discussed the importance of maintaining at least 50% participation, a threshold currently only being met by the 200-day moving average. This essentially shows that while momentum is bullish, there is a significant divergence. Proceeding with caution is essential, as the rally is narrow and driven by a few mega-caps.

We are already seeing some stocks signal potential reversals. Today, Micron (MU) lost its central daily level of 799, let’s keep an eye in the indecisive daily candle, a preliminary warning signal. AMD, on the other hand, recovered from its pre-market lows but is still facing resistance at the monthly level of 457.7.

Those two and INTC are showing signs of indecision, but momentum rotated today in semiconductors since NVDA and AVGO rallied over 4% and 5% respectively.

Some of the Setups posted on Saturday for this Week:

• Throughout the week, we can see clean moves like NVDA, which had a weekly target of 223 (+4%) and an extended target of 232 (+7.9%). That level was surpassed this week without ever breaching the invalidation level (Central Weekly Level / CWL) of 209 (Again, the table below was posted on Saturday).

• AMZN was identified as bearish last Saturday considering its technical situation, with a weekly target of 268 (-1.7%), contingent on the CWL remaining as unbroken resistance. The bearish move has been clean.

• Intra-week volatility is always a factor, and other targets may be reached in a more “bumpy” way. AVGO is a good example: it breached its CWL of 424.7 on Tuesday but recovered it today with conviction. In this case, using today’s Central Daily Level of 413 helped identify the bullish reversal signal.

The stock market continues to move higher; the SPX and NDX marked new all-time highs led by another semiconductor rally that left a daily gap below. This was the case for SMH and MU, though the latter printed indecisive price action. Similar patterns were observed in INTC, AVGO, and AMD, where “doji” type candles formed at the top of the current trend, breaching the upper Bollinger Band.

Anyway, the primary concern is not the euphoric move in semiconductors, but the continued deterioration of market breadth. The percentage of S&P 500 stocks trading above their 20 and 50-day moving averages remains in decline.

Last night, when I shared the daily levels, we identified 709.4 as the Central Daily Level (CDL) for the SPY. The logic was straightforward: if that level was lost, the targets to watch were 706.5 and 702.8. Today’s session validated the model, 709.4 acted as the resistance zone for the day, while 706.5 served as the effective support where the price found its floor.

Just as weekly levels provide a roadmap for that period, daily levels frame price action for the “here and now.” Consider these examples of precision from today:

• IWM: Remained resilient, trading between its CDL of 275.5 and the upside target of 277.9. Both levels were anticipated in last night’s update.

• TSLA: In the Weekly Compass, I mentioned resistance at the 200DMA and 40WMA, suggesting consolidation after the recent rally. Today, the CDL of 400.5 was lost right at the open, and price fell to 391.8, a daily support level projected last night.

Why These Levels Matter

Having these levels at your fingertips allows you to anticipate potential destinations and, more importantly, identify potential reversals.

For example, look at the 15-minute chart for NVDA: at 11:15 AM, a reversal candle printed at 198.5 (our second support level for the day posted yesterday). From that precise point, the price rallied, recovering from a -1.6% drop to close back above its CDL of 200.

The Roadmap for Tomorrow

The daily levels for tomorrow’s session are ready, starting with the SPX:

• Scenario A (Bullish/Flat): If the index stays above 7,105.4, expect a flat consolidation or continued bullish bias.

• Scenario B (Downside): If that support fails, the lower layers of defense are posted below.

Using daily levels provides early validation signals and to understand price action between Weekly and Monthly Levels that are wider.

The SPX closed the week overbought, suggesting a potential consolidation is coming, and on Friday I posted the chart for XOM with a bullish reversal spirit. Today, Oil Futures are jumping +6.5%, the oscillator suggests a reversal, let’s see if the 5DMA is recovered.

Along with the jump in oil, the ES Futures are declining 0.7% at the moment of sending this post. The consolidation scenario for the SPX was considered in the Weekly Compass; let’s monitor central weekly levels to consider any relevant reversal validation.
